Overview
Dusk is a short, atmospheric horror adventure game I am developing in Unreal Engine 5.
The game is designed as a single-evening experience — about 1.5–2.5 hours of focused, story-driven gameplay.
The action takes place in the early 2000s, in a small, remote Polish countryside, and Polish forest. The world is filled with familiar, grounded details: old cars, worn-out furniture, and everyday rural life — but filtered through a disturbing, unsettling lens.
Core Concept
- Genre: Horror adventure
- Target length: ~1.5–2.5 hours
- Platform: PC
- Distribution: Planned release on Steam, with a price range of ~15–25 PLN
- Target audience: Players 16+
The focus is not on complex mechanics, but on:
- Tension and atmosphere
- Simple, readable interactions
- A cohesive world that feels grounded and authentic, yet deeply unsettling
Visual Style
The game uses a deliberate low-poly, PSX-inspired visual style:
All of this is stylized in a way that looks familiar at first glance, but becomes more disturbing the longer you stay in it.
Artistic Direction
The art direction is not about realism, but about mood:
slightly broken geometry, jittery animations, grain, and flickering elements build a constant sense of unease.
